Result prepared in the polling station (Form-XIV) by the Presiding Officer is the primary authenticated document for the preparation of overall consolidated result by the Returning Officer. Timely communication and storage of Form-XIV is of utmost importance in the election process. Legal proceedings in the election petitions in the past have highlighted the importance of Form-XIV. A system that provides timely and efficient communication and ease of access and retrieval of Form-XIV is need of the day.
The Presiding Officers will carry out their result compilation in the normal way they are used to and with which they are more comfortable. After preparation of the result on Form-XIV (The Statement of the Count) and signing it the Presiding Officer will open the app on the Android phone or tablet and tap on the “Take Photos” button to take photos of the Form-XIV. When the Presiding Officer confirms that the photo taken is fairly clear to be read by anyone, then he/she will tap on the “OK” button to send the result photos to the ECP web server.
